MADE WITH LOVE.
IN EVERY WAY.
01 / SUSTAINABILITY — THE SKATIE WAY
We believe making something sustainable comes with a responsibility to make it thoughtfully.
For us, sustainability isn’t one fabric, one factory, or one certification.
It’s considering the impact of the choices we make.
The ones that affect the planet,
the people who make our clothes,
and the people who wear them.
We don’t pretend to have it all figured out. But whenever we can make a better choice, we do.

02 / BETTER, WHERE WE CAN.
We approach everything we make with the same question: can we do this better?
That might mean:
①
CHOOSING AN ECO-CERTIFIED FABRIC
②
SOURCING FROM EXISTING MATERIALS
③
PRODUCING CLOSER TO HOME
④
WORKING WITH PARTNERS WHO SHARE OUR STANDARDS
Everything we make doesn’t take the same path from an idea to your closet, but what does stay the same is our intention to make the more responsible choice whenever it’s available to us.
03 / CLOSE TO HOME
SKATIE was born in Los Angeles and keeping our production close to home whenever possible is something we care deeply about.
Working locally allows us to stay connected to the process and support our community.
However, there are times when producing in Los Angeles just doesn’t make sense. When our fabrics are made elsewhere, producing closer to the source can actually be the more sustainable choice. It helps us avoid shipping materials across the world multiple times before they reach you. Fewer miles traveled means a smaller carbon footprint. In those cases, we work with global partners who share the same standards we’ve built our brand on.

04 / PEOPLE ARE PART OF THE PLANET
Sustainablity is nothing if it’s not ethical.
We believe responsible production should include:
①
FAIR COMPENSATION
②
SAFE WORKING CONDITIONS
③
REASONABLE HOURS
④
RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE BEHIND EVERY PIECE
We make sure our production partners are committed to paying at or above minimum wage, keeping standard hours that value a work-life balance, and providing paid vacation time for their workers.
Because yes, where something is made matters.
But how people are treated while making it matters more.
05 / MATERIALS MATTER
We’re always looking for better fabrics.
When possible, we prioritize eco-certified, recycled, responsibly sourced, and existing materials rather than creating something new simply because we can.
We’re not interested in checking a box and calling ourselves sustainable.
We care about making a meaningful difference.
06 / FUTURE VINTAGE
MADE TO BE WORN.
AND WORN.
AND WORN.
BECAUSE THE MOST SUSTAINABLE BIKINI
IS THE ONE YOU STILL LOVE
SUMMER AFTER SUMMER.
The most sustainable thing in your closet is the thing that you actually keep. We design everything at SKATIE to live beyond a season. We call this Future Vintage.
We’re proud of the choices we make, but we know there’s always more to learn and more we can do. So we’ll keep asking questions, find new ways to make things close to home, or choose more thoughtful paths to production.
No perfection here. Just progress. One intentional choice at a time.
Love you, mean it.
